Journal Club Secretary welcomed the Chairperson and the members.

As per the schedule of the Journal Club, Child Health Nursing Department undertook the presentation. The session was taken by Mrs. Renuka Bhosale Asst. Prof. DY Patil University School of Nursing on the Topic “Therapeutic cooling as Specific treatment Method for infant with HIE.” She discussed about Pathophysiological Factors responsible for HIE, the Clinical Features of HIE, Incidence of HIE, classification was explained on the Basis of Sarnat tool. Retrospective study was taken for Discussion.

The presented Study was taken from the international Journal of Clinical Neonatology. Cooling of baby was explained by two method by selected head cooling and whole-body cooling and its monitoring
The study was summarised as per evidences present that total body cooling was more effective than selective head cooling.

Faculty discussed on various technicalities of the research under the leadership of Mrs. Renuka Bhosale. The Discussion was supported and guided by Dr. Rita Lakhani.
The Journal Club session ended at 4.30 pm with a vote of thanks to the presenter, all the Faculty and Students.
