Procedure of Functioning

  • Anti-discrimination law refers to legislation designed to prevent discrimination against particular groups of people; these groups are often referred to as protected group or protected classes. Anti-discrimination laws vary by jurisdiction with regard to the types of discrimination that are prohibited, and also the groups that are protected by that legislation.
  • D. Y. Patil Deemed to be university community comprises of heterogeneous population from different parts of country, different religious/caste affiliations, linguistic heterogeneity and persons with various financial backgrounds. Discriminations based on caste/sex/appearance/state of domicile etc. will be dealt with extreme seriousness.
  • D. Y. Patil Deemed to be University puts very best efforts to ensure that the minority community faces no discriminating incidents in the campus by following same steps:
    1) Conducting awareness programmes.
    2) Organizing empowerment programmes.
    3) Programmes in the nearby community to sensitize equality.
    4) Creating Awareness against caste, creed, religion, language, ethnicity, gender, disability of access etc.
  • The rules and procedures laid down shall be applicable to all complaints of discrimination made:
    1) The Cell will look into matters to depriving student and group students on a particular caste, creed, religion, language, ethnicity, gender, disability or any type and matters of imposing conditions of any student which is incompatible with the dignity of human beings.
    2) The Committee will receive complaints from the affected student and staff in terms of discrimination of caste, creed, religion, language, ethnicity, gender, disability and conduct a proper enquiry, and submit a detailed report to the Registrar for suitable action.
    3) Cell report immediately to the management of Deemed to be University if any complaint received.
    4) Cell do the enquiry immediately after receiving the complaint report to the Registrar.
