The first session of the e-conclave commenced on 4th August 2021. The topic for the talk was “Literature Search – how to explore the internet?” The speaker for the session was Dr. Anant Patil, Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, D.Y. Patil University.
The speaker discussed why, when, where and how to search literature related to research. The speaker also covered in depth search strategies with different search terms like MesH terms, synonyms, filters, Boolean operators etc and advanced search for specific articles during the session.
The reasons for literature search, sources of literature like textbooks, journals and grey literature; databases like pubmed, Indmed, Scopus, EMBASE, Web of Science, Cochrane database, Springer link, google scholar etc.; and principles of effective search were elaborately discussed in the lecture.
