On the occasion of “World Diabetes Day”, Department of Kinesiotherapy and Physical Diagnosis in collaboration with the Department of Medicine had conducted awareness and Assessment Program on 14th November 2019 at DY Patil Hospital and Research Center (Nerul). The program was held between 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. A total of 61 people were made aware of the role of physiotherapy in wound healing, diabetic foot care, and exercise training in diabetes. Around 20 chronic diabetic patients were assessed for peripheral neuropathy and necessary referrals were made to the diabetic and neuro OPDs. The program was carried by– Dr. Sathya P and Dr. Sukhada Prabhu . The participants gave an overwhelming positive response to the program.
