Students, with pride and respect for our women, celebrated this Women’s Day by donating 1500 sanitary pads to tribal, backward class women from the outskirt adopted villages of Karjat. Archi Sawant, Ashraf Kasmani, Kaustubh Wadekar, Renee Lobo, Arya Raut, Avani Ukade, Sharvari Gujrathi, Nigar Shaikh, Saurabh Kale, Ajit Yadav visited to Jambulvaadi, Pulachivadi, LakhachivadI villages in karjat.
On this occasion, along with donating sanitary pads, we shared 250 awareness leaflets that highlighted the importance of feminine hygiene & also discussed the cons of proper hygiene. Our village donation first began with a short survey with the family members, asking about the number of women in the family and the number of children.
On moving forward, we ensured that we made the people of the village comfortable with us, provided that we gave good sanitary pads to women, and instilled awareness about feminine hygiene. Our final stop was the Regional Hospital, where students interacted with the Head Doctor, the Head Medical Officer & Regional Women’s Health Sector members, who regularly visit these villages & try to ensure proper hygiene and health of the women working and holding families.
After getting this opportunity to interact with these five villages and the hospital, the students of DY Patil University School of Pharmacy took this opportunity to thank, Appreciate & Celebrate the womanhood of every mother, every daughter, every wife most importantly, all women, of all ages in the world. The campaign was coordinated by Mr. Pravin Naik, Faculty, DYPUSOP and Mr. Neelansh.V.Bhartia, Student, Health Club Secretary.
