Over the decades, under the leadership of our Chancellor Dr. Vijay Patil and Managing Trustee Mrs. Shivani Patil, the institution has fulfilled his dream of providing quality education in the field of Medicine for all the students in the country who wish to pursue their career in Medicine. As per the Revised MCI guidelines 2019, a systematic and structured Competency Based Medical Curriculum has been developed, which allows all the students to learn and comprehend the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values which are necessary for providing an integrated approach towards patient care.
DYPSOM has an outstanding infrastructure with not only the lecture halls well equipped with technology and internet facilities but also the Central library which is at par with the international standards. The institute offers various value added courses and our students are trained to develop an inquisitive approach towards learning. We also promote student research activities and have collaborations with National and International organizations like WHO and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
The 1320 bedded DY Patil Hospital is a state of the art charitable hospital that offers primary to tertiary healthcare facilities with availability of multiple broad and Super speciality services as well as a leading edge pathology and radiology diagnostic lab. The Intensive care Units and operation theaters are well designed to incorporate the latest as well as high end equipment and technology.
The School of Medicine and Hospital is blessed with highly qualified and dedicated faculty members who are leading luminaries in their respective fields.Our Institute also has the Asia’s most comprehensive medical simulation lab with high fidelity patient mannequins, surgical simulator, diagnostic ultrasound simulation with augmented reality, to train medical students and professionals. We have fourteen Mayo Clinic trained Simulation instructors as faculty members who impart skill training in the lab.
We at DYSPOM encourage co-curricular activities and host a variety of events in different arenas like Sports , Cultural, Social and celebrate festivities as a huge family to make this place a home away from home for the students and faculty on campus.
Our campus is a microcosm of the world, with students enrolling from different parts of the country and the globe. The student body has its own Student Council, Rotaract club, a Literary Society, GUDSH( A student run NGO ) and many more student communities that regularly participate in social outreach activities.
