1. Articulates expectations by ushering clarity and transparency

6. Prevents legal and regulatory violations

11. Root the codes into core values
12. Communicate and issue a copy to all staff
13. Read, understand and practice the code in your day-to-day conduct
14. Provide a way to report breaches in a confidential manner
15. Include ethical issues in professional development and training programmes
16. Set up a board committee to monitor the effectiveness of the code
17. Make copies of the code available to all the stakeholders possible
18. Make a named individual responsible for code implementation
19. Review the code in light of changing challenges
20. Make sure senior staff “walks the talk”
