1) Course Overview:
M. Tech (Instrumentation Engineering) is a unique inter-disciplinary two-year post-graduate program intended to equip students with knowledge of instrumentation, process control and automation of various industries. The course provides a sound foundation and trains students to ‘model’ problems or ‘simulate’ processes varying across many disciplines in science and engineering. It educates and trains students for a diverse range of theoretical skills and practical experience of real-time applications and design experience. The program covers courses like computational tools, measurement, control, automation, and IoT. The second-year offers students several fields of specialization through elective courses. The program culminates with a computational, automation, control, Signal and Image processing and IoT dissertation project in their second year. Students are encouraged to develop Industrial collaborative projects.
The graduates of the programme get placed in the following:
• R & D units of public and private sector companies.
• In heavy industries such as Thermal Power Stations, Steel Plants, Refinieries, and Cement and Fertilizer Plants.
• In designing, developing, installing and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems,
machinery and processes.
• Engage in academic research as an Assistant Professor or trainer of instrumentation engineers.
