Dental Super League

For the first time ever in the history of DY Patil school of dentistry, DSL, a football tournament was organized. The event was held on the FIFA ground which is going to be used for the FIFA under 17 world cup this year. It was a 3-day tournament held on 12th,13th and 14th August from 8 am to 4 pm with an approximate of 8 matches a day. The match duration was 10 minutes a half with 7 players on the field. There were a few modifications to the normal football rules like rolling substitutions and no offside.



There was an overwhelming response with a total of 14 teams participating out of which 8 boys teams, including a staff team comprising of senior staff and HODS. There were 6 girls teams participating in the tournament as well. There was a provision of jerseys according to their batch color. For all three days, there was a deejay entertaining the crowd, and food was provided for all the 3 days.
The finals of the tournament were extended to a time limit of 15 minutes a half. The tournament was won by the interns batch and runners up were the 2nd years. The girl’s tournament winner was the post-graduate team. There was a trophy awarded to the winners with medals for the winning team and the runners up. There were special prizes like the golden boot for the highest goalscorer in the tournament and the golden glove for the best keeper(most number of clean sheets) of the tournament. The tournament was a memorable experience and enjoyed by each and every member who attended the tournament. We hope this tournament grows in the future years and reaches greater heights.
