Dr. Beri received her residency training at Lincoln – Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. She is Board Certified and an active member of The American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. She is also a visiting scientist at the the Center for Dermal Research, Department of Biomaterials at Rutgers University (NJ, USA) and is an active staff member in the Department of Medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center (NJ, USA). She holds two research patents and has presented her research at international regenerative medicine conferences. She is a frequent contributor to biomedical literature, with particular research interests in tissue engineering with stem cells combined with lasers, including cancer stem cells, and medicinal properties of plant stem cells in wound healing and skin regeneration.
Abstract
Stem cells have the unique ability to renew themselves and differentiate into adult cells. They play an important role in maintaining balance and homeostasis in the body. The unique pathophysiologic process of wound healing is key to understanding the role the stems play in healing wounds. Neo Niche is a laser application method to stimulate dermal stem cells and alter their niche environment that can lead to neocollagensis and better wound healing.
