My Journey of Dentistry in DY Patil and Beyond

The second session of “My journey of dentistry in DY Patil and beyond…..” was organized online for the students of first year BDS batch on 6th August 2020 at 5.30 pm. The alumni speaker for the session was Dr. AkrutiChoksi (B.D.S -2002-2006) who is India’s first “Equine Dental Technician”

Dr.Akruti Choksi is an alumni of DY Patil School of Dentistry from the 2002-2006 batch of BDS. She is an “Equine Dental Technician” and completed her specialization from New Zealand School of Equine Dentistry and is a Member of the International Association of Equine Dentistry (USA).

She is currently working at all major racecourses in India and Sri Lanka. She consults for prestigious stud farms and polo teams all over India and works with equestrian sport horses ( India and Sri Lanka). She is actively involved in many NGOs like Samabhava, paradise animal shelter, kiwi care team, farrier care international, Brooke INDIA, etc. She is a telepathic animal communicator (India) and practitioner of conscious horse conscious rider (USA). The session was attended by 90 participants which included First BDS students, Dean -Dr. Omkar Shetty, Vice Dean -Dr. Avinash Tamgadge, Head of Dept of Oral Pathology- Dr. Treville Pereira, Associate Prof- Dr. Sourab Kumar, chairperson- Dr. Sandhya Tamgadge, and moderator- Dr. Abhishek Jadhav. Dr. Akruti shared her inspiring extraordinary journey with the students, interacted with them, and answered their queries. The students were highly inspired and gave good feedback after the session. All the participants received e-certificates and the students are looking forward to many more such inspiring sessions.
