Smiling and Shining Bright: Recap of the 6th International Dental Students Congress, CONNEXON 2023
DY Patil Deemed to be University School of Dentistry was proud to witness active participation from
UG and PG students alike, at the 6th International Dental Students Congress, CONNEXON 2023,
hosted by the Indian Association of Dental Students (IADS). The event was held on April 1st and 2nd
at Courtyard by Marriott and YMT Dental College and Hospital, Navi Mumbai, and was a resounding
success.
One of the highlights of the event was the scientific paper presentation, and we congratulate Miss
Asma Wagle, a final BDS student who won first prize, guided by Dr Sandhya Tamgadge, Professor,
Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology. In addition, Mr Tathagat Awdhesh, another final
BDS student, being awarded the Proactive UG of the Year by IADS. And kudos to Dr Sandhya
Tamgadge for being appointed as MSDC observer by IADS.
The core committee of IADS is made up of enthusiastic students from across India, and we want to
acknowledge the tremendous contributions of our final BDS students Mr Rishabh Mistry
(Maharashtra State Scientific Head) and Mr Tathagat Awdhesh (National External Affairs Director) to
the success of the conference. Many first BDS students also volunteered willingly for the event.
Overall, the 6th International Dental Students Congress was an incredible opportunity for dental
students to connect, learn, and showcase their skills. It's always inspiring to see young people taking
an active interest in their field and working to push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation.
Congratulations once again to all the participants, and here's to a bright and smiling future for
dentistry!
