Career Orientation - an insight into personal choices and decisions.

On the request of the passing out batch of Interns, a Career Orientation talk was held by Dr. Sumita Bhagwat, Professor in the Dept of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics. The talk focused on the influence of personal, societal, financial and family factors in decision-making. The interns got an opportunity to be very frank and open about issues related to their future that generally cannot be spoken of or addressed beyond closed-door discussions. After over an hour of quite a frank and grassroot level address, the interns were very glad that their personal fears and apprehensions were openly discussed and they felt stronger as they face tough crossroads ahead.

Value Added Course – Behaviour Management in Pediatric Dentistry

The Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, D. Y. Patil University- School of Dentistry, Navi Mumbai organised a value-added course on ‘Behaviour Management in Pediatric Dentistry’ from 7 th to 10 th December 2021, which was open to under graduate students, post graduate students and interns. The topics of discussion were, ‘The pediatric dental sedation continuum’ and ‘Use of audio-visual aids in behaviour modification’. The guest speakers for the value-added course were Dr. Sanchit Paul (Pediatric Dentist, Tooth Tales, Noida), Dr. Abhishek Soni (Pediatric Dentist, Vanilla Smiles, Pune) and Dr. Devendra Nagpal (Professor and Head, VSPM DCRC, Nagpur). The lectures encompassed various aspects of behaviour management as well as newer advances for management of pediatric dental patients. Certificates were provided to the participants after completion of the online evaluation form and feedback form. This course was extremely useful to all as ‘Behaviour Management’ plays a very crucial role to achieve successful pediatric dental practice.
