THREE DAYS RESEARCH METHODOLOGY WORKSHOP REPORT
Yoga is the science of Discipline & consistency. Yoga is the science of self-knowing,
it helps to develop the inner being of an individual. To be a good doctor a person needs to
be a good human being first. Yoga helps to achieve this goal with the help of morals and
values described in the ancient Yogic science. Irrespective of what the profession is of an
individual, Yoga is believed to work on the human body and mind in such a way that it
can help them to work on their personality and inner consciousness.
One of the important parts in the curriculum of BAMS is YOGA, and D. Y. Patil
School of Ayurveda is working on this dimension of health since its early days. Dept. of
Swasthavritta & Yoga is working on this in terms of Academics as well as in the affiliated
Hospital as well. Faculties and Students are continuously working for the implementation
& awareness of YOGA in the campus and in the community as well. D Y Patil School of
Ayurveda along with D Y Patil Ayurvedic Hospital has been working with great efforts to
implement, adopt & to promote Yoga in our day today’s life.
On the occasion of “9th International Day of Yoga”, School of Ayurved D. Y. Patil
deemed to be University, Nerul, Navi Mumbai & Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga
organized 10 days Yoga and meditation workshop from 12/6/2023 to 21/6/2023 at Yoga
Hall.
The 10 day’s workshop was concluded with celebrating 9th IYD – 2023 and a
valedictory function started off with the inaugural ceremony in the presence of Chief Guest
Dr. Vandana Mishra Madam, Vice Chancellor of D. Y. Patil deemed to be University, Navi-
Mumbai, & the event was also graced by the presence of
Dr. Alka Kulkarni Madam, Registrar, D. Y. Patil Deemed to be University,
Dr. Rakesh Somani Sir, HOI, School of Pharmacy, DYPU,
Dr. Gaurang Mistry Sir, HOI, School of Dentistry, DYPU &
Ms. Pallavi Chaudhari Madam, Director, School of Hospitality & Tourism, DYPU
The Theme for the year is ““Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”- The World is one Family”
Dr. Pratik Patil (Asso. Prof .Dept of Swasthavritta and Yoga) did welcome to all the
dignitaries, faculty members, non-teaching staff & students.
Opening speech was delivered by Dr. Mahesh kumar Harit, Dean, D. Y. Patil Deemed to
be University School of Ayurveda, shared his views with all for the successful celebration
of the 9th International Day Yoga 2023 with the aim of continuing this yoga practices in
the daily routine too.
After that Chief Guest of the event Dr. Vandana Mishra Madam, Vice Chancellor, D. Y.
Patil Deemed to be University shared their views and insights regarding YOGA and its
implementation in our Daily Life and in workplace.
Also, today another guest Dr. Alka Kulkarni Madam, Registrar, D. Y. Patil Deemed to be
University shared her views on this occasion enlightening the theme of this year’s IYD.
After that Common yoga protocol designed by Ministry of AYUSH was Conducted by Mrs.
Suma Deodas, Senior Yoga Teacher from Art of Living & Mr. Sahebdin Das, Senior Yoga
Teacher & his team.
D. Y. Patil Deemed to be University School of Ayurveda conducted the Event along with its
sister institutes/schools under D.Y. Patil Deemed to be University also attended the event.
Approximate 300 participants including students, patients, teaching and Non-Teaching
staff had participated enthusiastically in two sessions.
The whole event was successfully celebrated by the blessings of Hon. Dadasaheb
Shree D. Y. Patil Sir, Founder Chancellor, D Y Patil University, program conducted under
the guidance and support of our president and Chancellor, Hon. Dr. Vijay Patil Sir and
Respected Mrs. Shivani Patil madam many thanks to them for providing us the Platform,
Infrastructure, and resources as and when needed.
At the end of the session Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Mangala Wange, HOD, Dept.
of Swasthavritta and Yoga, DYPSOA.
