School of Architecture conducted one day workshop as part of the Building Material and Construction’s studio curriculum .The topic was “Adobe as the Building Material” and its was conducted in three different stages . The workshop started with a series of lecture about the material’s history, properties and the various construction techniques. It was followed by hands on exercise, in groups.

Each group worked on a single specific construction technique keeping abode as the materials of exploration. The workshop concluded with a group discussion session in which the students of all the group along with the studio faculties engaged in a discussion about the adaptability and feasibility of the material in today’s Construction industry.

The hands on experience provided an opportunity to the students to explore the various possibilities of the usage of the material. The workshop was concluded with a discussion on the major learnings from the workshop and the effective usage of brick as building material.
